Dr. Christopher Edginton

Dr. Christopher Edginton is Professor and Director of the School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Services at the University of Northern Iowa.

Dr. Edginton is considered a leading proponent of the application of contemporary management concepts in the park and recreation field and has authored over 200 articles and 26 books in areas of youth development, youth work, programming, and recreation management.

He is the Founder of Camp Adventure™ Youth Services, an award-winning service-learning program operating in over 20 countries, serving 750,000 children and youth on an annual basis. Dr. Edginton currently serves as Secretary General of World Leisure, a non-governmental organization in consultative status with the United Nations.

Dr. Julianne Gassman

Julianne Gassman, Ph.D. is the Associate Director of Camp Adventure™ Youth Services at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). Her responsibilities include marketing and contracting as well as coordinating 12 training sites across the country.

In addition she is a professor in the Leisure, Youth and Human Services Division at UNI, teaching such classes as Leadership in Leisure Serivces, Diversity in Leisure Services, and Planning Strategies for Nonprofit Youth Agencies.

Juli co-authored, Camp Leadership: A Staff Development Approach, is a member of the National AfterSchool Association, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and serves on the Broad of the Iowa AfterSchool Association.

Eric Allen

Eric Allen is currently completing his MBA at the University of Rochester. For the previous six years, he worked as an account supervisor for the international public relations firm, Porter Novelli.

Eric also has experience in the field of youth development, facilitating youth leadership & citizenship development programs for the National 4-H Council in Washington, D.C.  Eric's commitment to international exchange is evident through his experiences.

He has participated in a semester-long study abroad program in Tanzania, participated in a youth services philanthropy project in the Philippines, toured with the Wartburg College Choir throughout Europe, and served as a delegate for the International 4-H Youth Exchange in Estonia.

Steve McLeod

Steve McLeod, a native of New Zealand, brings his expertise as a graphic designer, camp counselor, and foreign national to enhance our service to both camps and students.

Steve served as a camp counselor for YMCA Camp Mason in New Jersey for two years. During that time he designed a new website for Camp Mason that was named one of the top three YMCA camp websites in the United States. Steve also served as a coordinator for the International Camp Counselor Program at the International YMCA in New York, assisting U.S. resident camps in their international staffing efforts.

Steve has an Honors Degree in Computer Graphic Design from the Wanganui School of Design and Waikato University and is currently continuing his work as a graphic designer.

Eric Nicolarsen

Eric  Nicolarsen is a recent graduate of Western Oregon University where he majored in Psychology with a minor in Business.

Eric has worked with youth in a variety of settings, including Outdoor School, running camp programs in both Germany and Hawaii, and serving as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Department of Human Services, and Maple Star Foster Care. He currently works for the Oregon Department of Human Services.

Eric enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors, including camping, fishing, and hiking through the backcountry of U.S. National Parks

Lynette Ritland Bond

Lynette Ritland Bond is a Business Analyst who provides project management and program evaluation support to the Student Services department at Columbia University in New York City. She recently completed her Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management at The New School for Management and Urban Policy.

Lynette served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras, where she managed a two-year business education program for coffee farmers and adolescents in the rural community of Moroceli.
